Diophantine Approximation and the Geometry of Limit Sets in Gromov Hyperbolic Metric Spaces

چکیده
In this paper, we provide a complete theory of Diophantine approximation in the limit set of a group acting on a Gromov hyperbolic metric space. This summarizes and completes what has until now been an ad hoc collection of results by many authors. In addition to providing much greater generality than any prior work, our results also give new insight into the nature of the connection between Diophantine approximation and the geometry of the limit set within which it takes place. Two results are also contained here which are purely geometric: a generalization of a theorem of C. J. Bishop and P. W. Jones to Gromov hyperbolic metric spaces, and a proof that the uniformly radial limit set of a group acting on a proper geodesic Gromov hyperbolic metric space has zero Patterson-Sullivan measure unless the group is quasiconvex-cocompact. The latter is an application of a Diophantine theorem.

Metric and periodic lines in the Poincare ball model of hyperbolic geometry
In this paper, we prove that every metric line in the Poincare ball model of hyperbolic geometry is exactly a classical line of itself. We also proved nonexistence of periodic lines in the Poincare ball model of hyperbolic geometry.
متن کاملApproximation of endpoints for multi-valued mappings in metric spaces
In this paper, under some appropriate conditions, we prove some $Delta$ and strong convergence theorems of endpoints for multi-valued nonexpansive mappings using modified Agarwal-O'Regan-Sahu iterative process in the general setting of 2-uniformly convex hyperbolic spaces. Our results extend and unify some recent results of the current literature.
متن کاملHyperbolizing Metric Spaces
It was proved by M. Bonk, J. Heinonen and P. Koskela that the quasihyperbolic metric hyperbolizes (in the sense of Gromov) uniform metric spaces. In this paper we introduce a new metric that hyperbolizes all locally compact noncomplete metric spaces. The metric is generic in the sense that (1) it can be defined on any metric space; (2) it preserves the quasiconformal geometry of the space; (3) ...
متن کاملDiameters , centers , and approximating trees of δ - hyperbolic geodesic spaces and graphs ∗
δ-Hyperbolic metric spaces have been defined by M. Gromov in 1987 via a simple 4-point condition: for any four points u, v, w, x, the two larger of the distance sums d(u, v)+ d(w, x), d(u, w) + d(v, x), d(u, x) + d(v, w) differ by at most 2δ. They play an important role in geometric group theory, geometry of negatively curved spaces, and have recently become of interest in several domains of co...

We present some existence and convergence results for a general class of nonexpansive mappings in partially ordered hyperbolic metric spaces. We also give some examples to show the generality of the mappings considered herein.
